My guest house, situated in the Cradle of Humankind,
offers a unique experience for those who appreciate the vast views
of hills and valleys covered by unspoilt indigenous vegetation.

You will return to the bustle of city life completely
regenerated after the time spent in this peaceful, unpolluted
environment. Listen to the jackals calling at night
as you sit around the braai. No traffic noise only a
chorus of birds, many of which you have not heard before.
For the energetic, take a hike through the surrounding
hills without seeing another house or telephone pole.

THE STUDIO

The studio unit, so called because it has been converted
from an artist's studio, has a very special atmosphere.
Enjoy the king size 4-poster bed made up with pure
cotton sheets. Take a bath in the fabulous bathroom
with the double doors wide open looking onto a completely
private kopje. Lounge on the deck and enjoy the great
views of unspoilt country.
The unit is self catering, has a fully equipped open
plan kitchen and is completely secluded and private.

THE COURTYARD COTTAGE

The courtyard cottage, separate from the main house,
has an open-plan kitchen and sitting room with cosy
wood stove for cold winter evenings. The separate bedroom
boasts a stunning four-poster bed and shower. The covered
deck and braai area have an absolutely amazing view.

THE MAIN HOUSE SUITE

The B&B suite situated in the main house is furnished
with antiques. It has a spectacular view over the valley
encompassing the Magaliesberg. The bedroom with a queen-size
bed joins a private sitting area with a divan bed.

As I am an artist and work in my studio, I have kept
my guest house small and intimate. Every visitor is
special and is offered the hospitality of my home and
its beautiful surroundings. I like to welcome each guest
with a glass of wine or coffee served on the stoep,
overlooking the truly magnificent view that extends
to the Magaliesberg.

- Take a horseride through the Cradle Game Reserve (082 853-3271)
- Experience Maropeng, the brand new world class museum at
the Cradle of Humankind; well worth a visit, especially for
the children
- Spend a few fascinating hours with Jonathan; viewing raptors
in flight and feeding
- Chill out, delight in the beautiful surroundings and indulge
in a Hot Rock Massage
The Mountain Country House is 30 minutes drive
from MonteCasino or Pretoria, close to Lanseria Airport and
15 minutes away from Hartbeespoort Dam.
